Patient Participation Group
Halcyon Medical is always seeking feedback on our Practice and one way this can be achieved is through patient participation groups (PPG).
The PPG meets at regular intervals to decide on ways of making a positive contribution to the services and facilities offered at this Practice to further enhance the services it provides.
WHAT IS A PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP?
A PPG is a selection of patients and Practice staff who meet at regular intervals to decide ways of making a positive contribution to the services and facilities offered by the Practice to its patients.
THE PURPOSE OF PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUPS
- To give Practice staff and patients the opportunity to discuss topics of mutual interest in their Practice.
- To provide the means for patients to make positive suggestions about the Practice and their own healthcare.
- To encourage health education activities within the Practice.
- To act as a representative group that can be called upon to influence the local provision of health and social care.
- To involve patients from the wider population.
The PPG is NOT for discussing personal medical issues, nor is it the Practice’s complaint system. The Practice operates a robust complaints procedure and details of this can be obtained from Reception or by visiting our website www.halcyonmedical.co.uk.
To be valuable, the PPG must have the confidence to challenge the Practice in line with any issues brought forward. It is self-organising and patient led.
POSITIVE OUTCOMES OF PPGS
The benefits of an effective PPG are felt by the patients, the Practice and the wider community in which it operates.
WHO CAN JOIN?
All registered patients are welcome to join the PPG. It is your opportunity to influence and achieve real change through working with others to ensure what we provide is what you want and need.

If you do not wish to join in our PPG meetings you can still have your say by completing a Friends and Family Test.
